When you become a supporter of the Irish Seed Savers you are entitled to FREE seeds and FREE potato seeds from our supporter's catalogue. On the left of this page you can download an order form. Please post in your completed order form and we’ ll have your seeds off to you as soon as possible.
All our seed is Open Pollinated, grown in Ireland. Beside each variety a symbol tells you where it’ s been grown:

Carrots and Parsnips

  • John's Purple

    Johnís Purple – S.G.

    This is a purple carrot developed by John Purves of Oxford, bred from four he found among a bag of orange carrots. Beautiful crop and flavoursome.

  • Danvers

    Danvers CO – ISSA

    An American heirloom carrot that originated among market gardeners near Danvers, Massachusettes in the late 1800's. Adapted to many different soil types, this main crop variety stores well. Deep orange flesh, thick tapered roots around 15–20cm long, nearly corelss, good flavour.

  • Beta lll

    Beta lll – S.G.

    A variety bred in the US for the high carotene content (three times the norm). Dark orange/red roots a medium size tapered with no hard core. Especially good when eaten young.

  • Nantaise

    Nantaise – S.G.

    A French 19th Century heirloom. Sweet carrot, deep orange/red with hardly any heart, cylindrical up to 15cm long. A good keeper.

  • Bedford Monarch

    Bedford Monarch – CO – ISSA – S.G.

    An old, rare heritage variety. High yielding, broad and even roots with smooth white skin. Good resistance to canker.

  • Viceroy

    Viceroy CO – ISSA – S.G.

    Another rare old variety coming originally from an heirloom collection from Seeds by Size in England. Long tapering roots, sweet to eat and very hardy.
