July Gardening Tips

Sowing season is almost at an end but you can still sow Spinach, Rocket, Salad Mix, Chard, Beetroot and all varieties of Lettuce are ideal to plant in July as well as Kale, Radish, Dill. Spring Cabbage, Peas, French Beans, Beetroot and Carrots. For those that grow all year round you can sow overwintering onions and cauliflower ready to harvest in the Spring next year.

You can sow flowers now but they will not flower until next year, Evening Primrose, Honesty, Mullein, Sweet William, Rose Campion, Tree Lupins, Love in the Mist, Foxgloves, Yellow Welsh Poppy and Aquilegia are all great varieties that add colour and attract bees.
