As part of Heritage Week on Sunday 27th August Irish Seed Savers are inviting the nation to come visit and celebrate ‘The Great Irish Garden’.

Free talks, tours, tastings, some fabulous guest speakers and demonstrations means there will be something for the beginner and avid gardener alike. Our guest speakers this year are RTE presenter and environmentalist Duncan Stewart, Brown Envelope Seeds founder Madeline McKeever and renowned Organic Gardening guru Jim Cronin. Each will be highlighting the need for biodiversity, heritage, conservation and best organic practices. They are sure to provide some fascinating insights. Apple, potato and tomato displays will be held throughout the day. For the little ones there will be face painting all day and weather permitting there will be a children’s treasure hunt too.

On the day we will be offering a select menu in our cafe and our Cob Pizza Oven will be fired up. With over twenty acres of organic seed gardens, native woodland trails and heritage orchards it’s going to be a fun filled day so come visit, learn about our vital conservation work or just come for a chat, a cup of tea and a cake in a fun, friendly atmosphere.
