Question?
Question concerning apple trees.
I bought 8 apple trees 6 years ago.
One died but the rest are doing fine.
I haven’t touched them since they were planted, but they are growing straight up,
Getting a little too high and not producing much fruit.
What do I need to do to them , cut them down a bit ?
Answer:
they are probably over due pruning and shaping although it is not strictly necessary and some people advocate not doing it. It is something that you would have to put a ittle bit of time into learning about (or ask a local tree pruning person / gardener). Most libraries have fruit growing books that explain the basics, if you check our website we also have courses teaching the basics (a day course with an expert €60) we also have small booklet manuals available from the shop €5 (i think – If you give our office a phone call they can send you one by post).
Unfortunately it is not something that can be explained by email correspondence…
