Native Irish Pears

Question?

Do you have any native Irish pear varieties?

Answer:

There are no varieties considered native. Pears arrived in Ireland through Belgium and France etc, particularly through monks who were avid fruit growers who traveled between European monasteries.

Our collection contains pears considered to grow well in Ireland, but their origins as i say are from elsewhere in Europe.
