The bill is S.510~The Food Safety and Moderization Act. This Bill makes it illegal to grow, share, trade or sell your homegrown food. Oh, it is OK to grow food…you can keep your little garden in your back yard…but you cannot share, trade or sell your homegrown food. What will this do to our beloved farmers markets?This bill allows complete manipulation of America’s food supply and threatens to strip us of our freedoms. This bill represents another attempt to place more power into the hands of centralized government and a corporate (Monsanto) monopoly on food. There is also a clause in the bill regarding seeds~~the organic farmers would lose their rights to grow food from heirloom seeds.
